Optimising images for use on the web is one of those tasks that is simple if you have the right tools. If you happen to have image editing software like Photoshop or Fireworks, it’s a 2 minute task, but these are expensive and if all you want to do is quickly resize a picture they are overkill. In trying to solve this issue for a client recently, we came across a couple of useful free tools, so I thought I would share them with you. The first is an online tool – www.resizr.com No software to install, and very simple to use. The second is Pixresizer. This time it is a desktop solution, again it is free. It also allows batch resizing, so if you have a number of images to process, this can save time. You can download from www.pixresizer.com.
